Motion in a Straight Line
A train between two stations speeds, slows and sometimes waits, yet its journey can be captured exactly. Chapter 2, Motion in a Straight Line, of the NCERT Physics textbook for Class 11 shows how. You will distinguish distance from displacement and speed from velocity, read position time and velocity time graphs, and use kinematic equations for uniformly accelerated motion. Relative velocity is introduced with everyday examples, and ideas of instantaneous velocity and acceleration prepare the calculus view developed later.
