Statistics
Scores of a cricket team and heights of classmates mean little until they are organised. Chapter 12, Statistics, of the NCERT Mathematics textbook for Class 9 shows how to arrange raw observations into grouped and ungrouped frequency distributions. You will draw bar graphs, histograms and frequency polygons, compute the mean, median and mode of the data, and compare what each measure reveals. Worked examples from sports, rainfall and wages train you to summarise a crowd of numbers in a few trustworthy figures.
