Wave Optics
Your child will treat light as a wave and explain interference, diffraction and polarisation. Wave optics generally contributes about five marks, often a Young-experiment fringe-width question. Learners start with Huygens principle and secondary wavelets for reflection and refraction of wavefronts, derive interference through the double-slit setup with bright and dark conditions plus fringe width, treat single-slit diffraction with resolving power, and close with polarisation through Malus law, Brewster angle and Polaroid sheets revealing the transverse character of light.
