Moving Charges and Magnetism
NCERT Class 12 Physics, Part I, Chapter 4 begins with the force on a moving charge in a magnetic field and the resulting circular motion that underlies the cyclotron accelerator. The Biot Savart law gives the field of current elements, applied to circular loops and solenoids, while Ampere's circuital law handles straight wires and toroids. The chapter then studies forces between parallel currents, torque on a current loop as a magnetic dipole, and closes with converting a galvanometer into ammeters and voltmeters.
