A Day with Nandu
In the NCERT Class 4 chapter A Day with Nandu, you spend a day with Nandu, a young elephant living in an elephant camp. You watch him bathe in the river, eat leaves, sugarcane, and bananas, and follow the keeper's calls and commands. The lesson shows how keepers feed, wash, and care for elephants, how heavy work and rest are balanced, and how calves learn from older animals. It closes by asking how Nandu's needs for food, water, space, and company resemble your own.
