How Many Times?
NCERT Joyful Mathematics for Class 1, Chapter 11 introduces multiplication as repeated joining of equal groups. Children count pairs of shoes, wheels on tricycles and legs on chairs, then write two plus two plus two as groups of two. They arrange seeds in rows, clap rhythms and draw arrays with dots. Skip counting by twos, threes and fives makes the pattern visible. It prepares the idea of times without tables, grounding multiplication in fair sharing and everyday collections.
