What is Long? What is Round?
NCERT Joyful Mathematics for Class 1, Chapter 2 asks what is long and what is round through touch and play. Children roll balls, slide boxes, feel edges and sort leaves, bangles and pencils. They name circles, squares and triangles in classroom objects and describe long ropes versus round plates. Drawing, threading and building with blocks strengthen spatial words like above, inside and beside. It builds early geometry by linking shape, size and position to things children see and hold.
