We Distribute, Yet Things Multiply
Multiplying expressions term by term looks tedious until the distributive law organises the work. Chapter 8, Algebraic Expressions and Identities, of the NCERT Mathematics textbook for Class 8 teaches multiplication and division of monomials, binomials and polynomials. You will expand products systematically, recognise the standard identities for the square of a sum or difference and the difference of squares, and use them to compute quickly and to factorise. Each identity is verified geometrically so that the formula carries a picture with it.
