Percentage and its Applications
Discounts in shops, marks in examinations and interest in banks are all comparisons against a hundred. Chapter 8, Comparing Quantities, of the NCERT Mathematics textbook for Class 7 develops the percentage as a standard way of comparing ratios. You will convert between fractions, decimals and percentages, compute increase and decrease, work out discounts, profit and loss, and apply the simple interest formula.
