Parallel and Intersecting Lines
Railway tracks that never meet and scissors that cross at a point are pictures of parallel and intersecting lines. Chapter 5, Lines and Angles, of the NCERT Mathematics textbook for Class 7 studies the angles formed when a transversal cuts two lines. You will identify corresponding, alternate interior and co-interior angles, learn which pairs are equal when the lines are parallel, and use these facts to find unknown angles. Everyday examples from windows, roads and staircases keep the ideas concrete throughout.
