Area and its Boundary
NCERT Math Magic for Class 5, Chapter 11, Area and its Boundary, opens with children covering cards with stamps to compare surfaces. It builds the difference between perimeter as the boundary length and area as the surface covered in square centimetres. It measures rectangles by counting unit squares along length and width, explores irregular shapes on square grids, and tells the story of Cheggu and Anar to show that shapes with the same area can have very different perimeters and need different lengths of fencing wire.
