Grouping and Sharing
NCERT Joyful Mathematics for Class 2, Chapter 8 practises grouping and sharing as the start of multiplication and division. Children pack laddoos in equal boxes, share crayons fairly and arrange chairs in rows. They write repeated addition for equal groups and describe leftovers honestly. Drawing arrays and acting out distribution shows the link between multiplying and dividing. It builds fairness language of equal parts that later formal tables and division facts will rest upon.
